For 18 years, the PSP Southampton Boat Show has been a rubbish-free zone thanks to Biffa, with more of its waste recycled in 2011 than ever before.

Organised by National Boat Shows Ltd, the PSP Southampton Boat Show takes place annually every September.
2011 was the 18th year running that Biffa has successfully provided waste services for the 10-day event, ensuring that the park remained waste free before, during and after the show. More than 135 tonnes of rubbish was removed and treated in the most responsible manner possible without affecting the day to day running of the event. “In total, nearly 50 tonnes of wood, card, plastic and glass were recycled – more than ever before,” says Biffa’s Lee Guy.
“Biffa worked with the organisers, National Boat Shows, to ensure that the show site was kept free of litter throughout the build-up, show open and breakdown periods and that recycling was maximised with minimal impact on the day-to-day running of the show.”
