Introduction
As a market leader in the waste management industry, our commitment to corporate responsibility is fundamental to the delivery of our strategy. We have robust systems in place designed to ensure that we fulfil our duty of care towards the environment and comply with the various environmental and quality performance standards issued by government and regulatory bodies.
For the first time, we have combined a review of our commitment to Corporate Responsibility and our aims going forward, within our Annual Report and Accounts publication. Throughout the publication we have identified key aspects of our environmental performance. We have determined these by reference to the environmental key performance indicators established by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and our own internal environmental management systems.
