Hazardous Waste
Waste Safe
Handling hazardous waste let's make it easy
The Waste-Safe Range is a simple and easy to use service. It’s designed for the safe segregation, storage and collection and recycling of hazardous wastes; such as paint and varnish tins, batteries, oil and fuel filters, adhesives and inks, fluorescent tubes and electrical items, to name but a few. From the Waste- Safe Range, we provide you with the right containers and services for your individual needs.
Whether your waste is generated at a single point or at several points within your organization, or even if it is sited at multiple locations, you can be assured that the Waste-Safe Range can deal with it.
Smaller Volumes and Mixed Waste Products
For smaller volumes and infrequent collections of mixed hazardous waste, we offer the Waste-Safe Mini. They can be used around your company at each waste accumulation point.
Larger Volumes
Our larger Waste-Safe containers are UN certified in accordance with the ADR regulations - these regulations cover the storage and transport of hazardous wastes.
For ease of use, they can be manoeuvred by pallet truck or fork lift and exchanged/replaced as needed. Additional security is offered through the sealed and lockable lid, essential for customers without lockable compounds or with specific security issues.
When waste data is limited or time is short
Biffa offers you a professional service to quickly identify, pack, label and collect any hazardous or potentially hazardous materials using qualified and experienced staff.
It is an effective option for the safe and compliant removal of both large or small quantities of hazardous wastes, when time is of the essence or when the make up of the waste is unknown.
It's completely flexible. Materials can either be identified by you, the customer; or listed by our staff and packed in compatible combinations. Or where the waste types can be listed, the appropriate containers can be sent prior to packing.
Special Waste Transfer Stations
Through our purpose built transfer stations your waste materials ranging from small laboratory chemicals to bulk IBCs can be easily processed. We offer segregation and bulking before final onward disposal. The choice of disposal route includes recovery, recycling, chemical treatment, incineration, and landfill options.
Empty containers can then be shredded through specialist shredding units, with Biffa's overall emphasis being minimisation, recovery and recycling.
