Introduction
Biffa is one of the top three operators of landfill services in the UK and handles around 7.0 million tonnes of waste at its 33 operational landfill sites.
Customers include Biffa's collection division, local authorities and many other local, regional and national waste collection businesses operating in the UK.
The division also incorporates the dry waste treatment and recycling business. This comprises 42 facilities for the bulking up of waste and for the sorting of recyclable materials such as paper, card, metal, plastics and glass.
As government regulations continue to promote the use of renewable energy,we continually seek to enhance our power generation capacity from our landfill gas portfolio. Biffa is a significant provider of power generation from landfill gas with interests in installed capacity of 108 MW.
