Did you know that the UK currently has one of the lowest glass recycling rates in Europe, currently standing at around 50%. Pubs, clubs and restaurants throw away over half a million tonnes of glass bottles each year of which no more than 20% gets separated for glass recycling.
Biffa is working to change that and is introducing a simple, convenient and cost effective way to start glass recycling by providing a service to recycle your glass bottles.
Phase one
Our trained staff will survey your site and agree with you the number of containers you require and the frequency of emptying.
Phase two
The containers will be delivered to you clearly labelled to help your staff segregate glass from the general waste.
Phase three
A Biffa specialised recycling vehicle will collect your mixed glass and take it to a recycling centre before being sent for reprocessing.
Phase four
Your old glass will be made into new bottles and jars or made into aggregate substitute.

You've now helped to reduce the amount of glass going to landfill, saved money and helped the environment.
