Recycling.

Municipal recycling lies at the heart of Britain’s drive to cut the millions of tonnes of waste going to landfill, recover increasingly valuable resources for reuse, and reduce emissions that contribute to global warming.

Biffa’s national presence, heavyweight expertise and front-line experience combine to provide efficient, value-led quality services tailored to local needs and budgets, producing some of the best municipal recycling performances in the country.

With over 40 municipal contracts, Biffa services nearly two million households and makes around three million collections every week.

Operating across the UK, from East Lothian to Anglesey and down to the south coast, Biffa supports local authorities dealing with increasing regulatory and financial pressure to recycle more and waste less. The experience, insight and professionalism of over 2,500 dedicated staff combine to deliver efficient, reliable and flexible recycling services that can, and do, produce some of the highest recycling rates in Britain.
For example, South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse have pushed their recycling, reuse and composting rates beyond 70%; Surrey Heath is also in the top 5 in the country; whilst Anglesey is one of Wales’ top recycling councils.

Close links with Biffa’s recycling division and other specialist partners mean that residents can recycle an increasingly wide range of dry recyclables, as well as organic materials such as food and green waste, using either wheeled bins for commingled schemes or boxes for kerbside-sort collections.
