As you would expect, we follow strict safety procedures at every stage of removal and disposal. Our specialist team will also provide professional advice and guidance to ensure that your obligations under the Duty of Care are fully met.
A specialised emergency clean up service is available to local authorities, housing associations or other organisations that need to deal with clinical waste.
Our teams will manage the effective removal of dangerous items (including syringes, scalpels and swabs) from your site.
Biffa’s collection fleet has been designed for the safe transportation of clinical waste. A separate compartment holds sharps boxes so that these are not mixed with other wastes.
Most pharmaceutical wastes and some clinical wastes require Section 62 pre-notification under the Special Waste Regulations. This means that at least three working days pre-notification is given to the Environment Agency before the waste can be collected. We will advise you if there is any uncertainty.
