Background Public Consultation Information
Biffa is commited to informing and involving the local community in its plans for Brookhurst Wood.
In spring 2009 we carried out a programme of activities to inform and engage with the local community on our revised plans before submitting a planning application.
This included this website, newsletters to local households and businesses, public exhibitions and presentations to local community groups. We would like to thank all those who visited our exhibitions and this website, and who attended presentations.
We were encouraged by the feedback received from the community which showed an interest in our plans for Brookhurst Wood. The feedback also highlighted some areas of particular interest to the local community - how Biffa will control and minimise the impacts of the facility on the local community and the types of waste that the facility will treat.
In September 2009 Biffa issued an update newsletter to provide the community with further information on the main issues raised during the public engagement programme earlier in the year.
You can view a full summary of our public engagement activities and the feedback we received from the local community below.
