Biffa is the UK’s leading integrated waste management business, supplying collection, treatment, recycling and technologically-driven energy generation services. We provide an essential service for local authorities and businesses throughout the UK, delivering sustainable waste management solutions with a focus on treating and using waste as a resource.
Biffa has already helped West Sussex to meet its waste management needs for over 20 years.
In June 2010 Biffa signed a 25-year Contract with West Sussex County Council to treat the County’s black bag household waste to significantly reduce the amount sent to landfill:
- The Contract is part of West Sussex County Council’s sustainable waste management strategy
- Together with Better Tomorrows' initiatives to reduce the amount of rubbish created in the County and the County Council’s recycling contract, the facility will significantly reduce the amount of West Sussex’s black bag household rubbish sent to landfill.
- Over the next 25 years, Biffa West Sussex Ltd (the company established to operate the Materials Resource Management Contract) will work in partnership with West Sussex County Council, Better Tomorrows, and Recycle for West Sussex to meet the County’s waste management needs.
