Biffa works to ensure that it is a good neighbour and that any impacts arising from the construction and operation of the Mechanical Biological Treatment facility are kept to an absolute minimum.
The facility must operate in line with the strict operating conditions set out by West Sussex County Council.
Construction works and deliveries must take place between 7.30am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and between 7.30am and 1pm on Saturdays only.
Our contractors working on the facility have signed up to the Considerate Contractors Code. We will keep the site’s nearest neighbours and their elected representatives updated on the progress of the works and where possible, notify them in advance of any works taking place outside of the times set out above.
Deliveries and transportation
Waste deliveries and transportation of materials from the site are also restricted.
Waste deliveries must take place between:

7am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday

7am and midday on Saturdays (7am and 3pm on the first Saturday following a public holiday)

7am and 10am on public holidays

No waste deliveries will take place on Sundays.
- 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday
- 7am to 6pm on Saturdays
- 7am to 10am on public holidays
- No materials will be transported from the site on Sundays.
- Any works and deliveries outside the times above must be agreed in advance.
Routing restrictions will mean HGVs will travel to and from the site from the A264 Horsham northern bypass. No HGVs will approach or leave the site via Langhurstwood Road north of the site, except when collecting waste from nearby homes.
