Ongoing Community Involvement
We welcome feedback on the construction works at Brookhurst Wood and will listen and respond to your comments.
Now that site works are underway, we have appointed a dedicated community liaison officer (CLO) who is based at Brookhurst Wood to provide a link between Biffa and the community. We will keep the community updated and informed about the works at Brookhurst Wood through updates to this website, newsletters, attending community events and presentations to local community groups.
Local Liaison Group
We have established a Local Liaison Group to provide an open forum for the community to raise issues with Biffa about the construction and operation of the MBT facility at Brookhurst Wood. This Group held its first meeting on 6th September 2010 and will meet regularly throughout the 25 year Contract.
There are eight places for local residents on the Group – Places on the liaison group for residents are currently full but if you are interested in getting involved your name can be put on a waiting list. Please email brookhurst.wood@biffa.co.uk if you are interested in joining the group or call 01403 339169.
The terms of reference for the Group can be viewed here
Below you can find electronic copies of information that we have provided to the local community to keep people updated, such as press releases, newsletters, minutes of liaison group meetings and other public domain materials:
