Westmill Energy From Waste Facility.

Westmill Energy From Waste Facility.

Our proposal is to develop an energy recovery facility in Hertfordshire that will produce 34 megawatts of electricity from residual waste - waste left over after recycling and composting. It will divert waste from landfill and provide enough power for 68,000 homes.

This section contains details of our proposals to develop an energy recovery facility in Hertfordshire to treat residual waste; waste remaining after recycling and composting has been carried out.

It provides information on our proposals and show how the development of a new energy recovery facility at our Westmill landfill site near Ware, can recover value from waste that would otherwise be landfilled by using it to generate electricity.

Latest Information

On January 18th 2011 we advised members of the Westmill Liason Group that the planning application has been further delayed but that the intention is still to go ahead with the project and submit a planning application sometime this year.

We will advise the community and all interested parties as soon as we have a definite date for the actual submission.
