We believe in a full, open and honest community consultation process. The pages of this section of our website are part of that process.
Between now and when we submit the planning application – scheduled for November this year – we will be presenting our initial plans to local community groups and providing information on a general basis.
Prior to finalising our plans for submission to Hertfordshire County Council for consideration we will look at all suggestions and ideas and, where and if appropriate or possible, will incorporate these into our final proposal.
In addition to the planning application being available on this website we will also circulate information, direct to the local community, giving details on the final plans.Public exhibitions
We held two public exhibitions in October 2009 at The Roebuck Hotel, Baldock Street, Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 9DR on Friday 9th October from 2pm to 8pm and on Saturday 10th October 10am to 4pm.Information centre

Liaison group
When we started operating our landfill site we established a Site Liaison Group.
This Group comprises local residents, elected representatives from Parish, District and County Councils, Local Authority and Environment Agency officers and CEMEX (the quarry operators) and Biffa staff. It was established to act as a communication vehicle and allowed detailed discussion between Biffa and the community on all aspects of our landfill operations. We have already presented our plans to this group and will continue to liaise with its members.
