We have a focus on four strategic investment areas in line with the waste hierarchy, where we have committed £418.6m since our Capital Markets Day (CMD) in 2019:

We implemented a number of measures this year to protect our people through the pandemic, including keeping them safe and well, and increasing financial support for those needing to isolate.

We also focussed on supporting our people’s mental health, launching the Biffa E.N.E.R.G.Y programme to help instil good work-life balance practices.

We launched our first Women in Waste group designed to help women to thrive and succeed at Biffa.

Corporate Governance

And continued to demonstrate our no tolerance approach to modern slavery.
