Commercial Composting

If you generate large volumes of food and green waste, Biffa has a sustainable solution to meet your needs.

Biffa operates two In-Vessel Composting Plants that process around 100,000 tonnes of mixed food and green waste a year from kerbside collections. The enclosed vessels convert the waste into compost and soil conditioners that are used to restore landfill sites.

We also have three Open Windrow Composting facilities that process green waste only. OWC facilities run continuously and process waste in an open environment with the presence of oxygen, processing approximately 87kT per annum. We produce compost for a wide range of applications, from soil enrichment to top dressing. All of our products meet BSI PAS 100 standards.
