Terms and conditions
  1. The promoter of this Change Makers Competition (“the Competition”) is Biffa Waste Services Limited a company registered in England and Wales under number 00946107 whose registered office is at Coronation Road, Cressex, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP12 3TZ.

     

  2. To be eligible to enter the Competition: -
    1. You must be at least 18 years of age or older.
    2. You must not be: -
      1. An employee of the Biffa group of companies or a member of their family; or
      2. An employee of an agent, subcontractor, or advisor of Biffa.
    3. You must be a UK residents. Overseas entries will not be considered.

     

  3. Upon video submission, you shall be deemed to have entered the Competition.

     

  4. By entering the Competition, you are deemed by your entry to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions, including agreeing:
    1. to your submission video being used to promote the Competition on Biffa’s social media channels without prior permission or notice being provided to you by Biffa.
    2. to your first name and country of residence being used in the winner announcement on Biffa's website and social media channels.
    3. distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about the Competition.
    4. to comply with the terms and conditions of the third-party platform used to upload your video submission (WeTransfer_TOS_20190430.pdf)
    5. to images and other personal information identifiable from the video being processed by Biffa and external judges in determining the Competition winner. Any personal data provided by you in connection with the Competition shall be processed in accordance with Biffa’s Privacy Notice. 

       

  5. Subject always to paragraph 13, the Competition prize is:
    1. a cash prize valued £10,000.
    2. free business support relevant to the winning business as determined by the judging panel at the time of winner selection.

    together known as “the Prize.”

     

  6. Entry into the Competition is free. By entering, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to receive the Prize that may be awarded to you.

     

  7. To be eligible for inclusion in the Prize, paragraph 2 must apply to you, and you must have complied with the competition requirements.

     

  8. Only one entry shall be permitted per entrant.

     

  9. Biffa reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

     

  10. Five finalists will be selected by a judging panel consisting of internal Biffa staff and external industry experts.

     

  11. The winner shall be determined via public voting on Biffa's social channels and on biffa.co.uk/changemakers. 

  12. The winner will be notified by email as soon as possible, using the name and email address, as provided by the entrant.

     

  13. In the event that, as determined by Biffa:
    1. Biffa does not have enough information to contact the winner; or
    2. a winner does not respond to the prize winning email; or
    3. the winner does not accept, or rejects the Prize; or
    4. the winner fails to provide details required to enable delivery of the Prize; or
    5. the entry is deemed invalid; or
    6. the entry is in breach of these terms and conditions; or
    7. the winner does not ‘cash in’ the Prize within 3 calendar months from the date of issue of the Prize,
    8. the winner’s Prize may be forfeited from the competition, and Biffa shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.

     

  14. The result of the competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

     

  15. The Prize is non-exchangeable and non-transferable.

     

  16. Biffa reserves the right to replace the Prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value at any time.

     

  17. Biffa reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition and or invalidate any affected entries at any time and for any reason.

     

  18. The Biffa group of companies accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of you entering the Competition, or in accepting the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum amount allowable by law.

     

  19. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
