Biffa Isle of Wight

Located just four miles south of the mainland, Biffa Isle of Wight serves one of the smallest areas of all our local depots. Whether it’s low season or the peak of the festival period, our team works hard to keep the island moving – handling everything from general waste to recycling.

Our Isle of Wight recycling services include cardboard, glass, plastic and paper, helping you segregate your waste for greater efficiency.

Meet the team

  • Depot manager

Meet Melvyn, dedicated Biffa Isle of Wight employee for almost three decades. Melvyn started on April fool’s day 1990 and hasn’t looked back since. In between running a small, busy depot and servicing the Isle of Wight festival every year, Melvyn likes nothing more than a spot of sea fishing, gardening and DIY.

  • Senior Traffic Despatcher

Steve has worked at Biffa Isle of Wight for more than ten years. As well as taking on the responsibilities of senior traffic despatcher, Steve also works as a traffic manager and driver trainer. His favourite part of the job? Day-to-day, Steve enjoys nothing more than dealing with his customers directly. During the warmer months, it’s all about tackling the busy summer season head on. As an added bonus, the Isle of Wight festival often means meeting a celebrity or two.
